I am Anju Chandran, known by the pseudonym Anju Acharya, a Kochi-based artist. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Painting from RLV College of Music and Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Printmaking with first rank from the University of Hyderabad.
Through continuous scientific study of living organisms and persistent effort, I have developed my own distinctive style. My practice is shaped by a dialogue between scientific inquiry and artistic exploration, rooted in the study of flora, fauna, and other organisms around me. My process begins with observation and research, which then extends into painting as a means of translating knowledge into visual form.
I have been the recipient of grants and have participated in exhibitions, including those organized by the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi. My works have been showcased both in India and abroad, and I also took part in the fifth edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
At present, I work as an art educator at GHSS Kilimanoor, Kerala.
